Auteur(s): OUCHENE, CHakib
Résumé: In a context where ecological transition has become a major priority, optimizing the energy
consumption of data centers and information systems (IS) has emerged as a critical
challenge. These infrastructures, which integrate servers, storage, networking, and cooling
systems consume an increasing share of global electricity and contribute significantly to the
digital carbon footprint.
This work proposes an integrated methodology for evaluating and optimizing the energy performance
of information systems, leveraging the information system cartography platform
developed by Uncia SAS. The approach is structured around two complementary dimensions:
• Evaluation and energy scoring: calculation of a global score for energy consumption
and carbon impact, based on the assessment of IS components (servers, applications).
This scoring identifies the most energy-intensive elements and positions the overall
system on an efficiency scale.
• Optimization and sustainability: beyond evaluation, the methodology integrates
optimization strategies covering the entire lifecycle of infrastructures (manufacturing,
usage, end-of-life). It includes right-sizing of IT resources, workload management,
optimized hardware configurations, adoption of low-carbon energy sources, and site
selection guided by Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and Carbon Usage Effectiveness
(CUE).
The objective is to provide organizations with a decision-support tool that aligns their digital
strategy with Green IT principles. By delivering clear and actionable insights into the energy
and carbon footprint of applications, this methodology offers practical recommendations to
reduce consumption, improve efficiency, and minimize environmental impact, while ensuring
performance, availability, and security.

Résumé: The concept of Digital Twins Digital Twin (DT) has gained prominence with the
proliferation of Internet of Things Internet of Things (IoT) systems, enabling virtual
representations of physical entities to monitor and optimize performance. However,
the development of DTs often lacks robust methodologies to ensure resilience against
disruptions such as cyber-attacks, hardware failures, or data inconsistencies.
This paper explores the potential of a Test-Driven Development Test Driven Development

The proposed approach introduces a structured TDD framework with distinct
phases,Red, Orange, Yellow, and Green zones,to systematically design and

Résumé: Nowadays, smart systems are experiencing a global popularity, driven by a
rapid advancement of information technology and the integration of Internet of
Things (IoT) devices. These technologies transform how we interact with indoor
and outdoor environments by enabling automation, optimizing energy efficiency,
and enhancing environmental monitoring. However, as IoT-enabled systems scale
up in smart cities, they encounter significant security challenges. These challenges
are directly tied to the underlying network protocols and their vulnerabilities,
particularly in Low-power and Lossy Networks (LLNs). Addressing these challenges
requires innovative approaches to strengthen the security of network protocols in
IoT systems, especially those operating within LLNs, where resource constraints
and network instability further complicate the application of security measures.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are increasingly being
utilized to detect and mitigate security threats in real-time by analyzing network
behavior and identifying anomalies. However, traditional ML approaches often
require centralized data collection, which can introduce privacy risks and scalability
issues. To overcome this, Federated Learning (FL) offers a decentralized alternative,
enabling IoT devices within LLNs to collaboratively improve security models without
exposing sensitive data. This thesis contributes by proposing and analyzing two
novel DIS-based attacks, TIDE and DRIFT, in simulated RPL networks, and by
designing a federated learning–based detection and mitigation framework. The
proposed solution enhances the security and resilience of RPL-based IoT networks
while addressing privacy, scalability, and resource efficiency concerns.***

Titre: AI-Powered Darknet Detection for Cyber Threat Hunting
Auteur(s): NEDJAA, INes
Résumé: The darknet has emerged as a covert environment for illicit activities, enabling adversaries
to distribute malware, conduct illegal trade, and coordinate cyberattacks beyond
the reach of traditional monitoring systems. Its encrypted and obfuscated traffic presents
serious challenges for organizations, creating blind spots that hinder proactive defense
strategies such as cyber threat hunting. Addressing this gap requires intelligent detection
frameworks capable of analyzing network flows in real time and accurately identifying
darknet-related anomalies.
This research introduces an AI-driven darknet traffic detection framework that integrates
machine learning, deep learning, and meta-learning to support cyber threat hunting
operations. The framework is trained and evaluated on the CICDarknet2020 dataset,
which provides a comprehensive collection of darknet and non-darknet traffic. For traffic
type classification, we employ machine learning models including K-Nearest Neighbors,
Decision Tree, Random Forest, XGBoost, and Logistic Regression, alongside deep learning
architectures such as LSTM and CNN. To enhance accuracy and efficiency, feature
selection is performed using Mutual Information, Recursive Feature Elimination, and
Random Forest-based selection, while hyperparameter optimization is conducted with
HalvingRandomSearchCV. For application type classification, the same set of machine
learning and deep learning models, feature selection strategies, and hyperparameter optimization
techniques are applied. In addition, a meta-learning approach is implemented
to dynamically leverage predictions from base learners, ensuring optimal model selection
for each instance.
Experimental results demonstrate that Random Forest achieves the highest accuracy
for traffic type classification, while the meta-learning framework significantly improves
application type detection over individual ML/DL models. Furthermore, real-time evaluation
using live network traffic confirms the system’s practicality and robustness, proving
its effectiveness in operational environments.
This research delivers an efficient, accurate, and real-time darknet detection solution
that combines advanced AI techniques with optimized feature selection to empower cyber
threat hunters, reduce attacker dwell time, and strengthen organizational resilience
against evolving cyber threats.***
