| dc.description.abstract | The adoption of cloud-native technologies has transformed how organizations build and
operate software, yet DevOps education remains largely theoretical on most e-learning
platforms. Learners struggle to practice Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation
in realistic, isolated environments without costly cloud setup or guided “clickthrough”
labs that do not reflect production troubleshooting.
DevLearnOps addresses this gap through a microservice-based learning platform
that combines structured courses, competitive hands-on challenges, gamification, and
an optional AI lab tutor. Students spawn ephemeral lab environments orchestrated
on k3s, interact through a browser terminal (xterm.js and Socket.IO), and receive
deterministic validation feedback. The backend follows a database-per-service model
with seven domain microservices behind Kong at the API edge, while Apache Kafka
decouples long-running lab provisioning from interactive HTTP flows.
The platform supports multiple actors—students, instructors, and administrators—
and integrates monetization via Lemon Squeezy and Chargily, administrative analytics,
and instructor-authored challenge workflows. This thesis presents the requirements,
architecture, detailed service design, implementation choices, and DevOps deployment
strategy of DevLearnOps, demonstrating how event-driven microservices can deliver
scalable, secure, hands-on DevOps education.***
de données par service, avec sept microservices derrière Kong à la couche edge ;

| en_US |
