dc.description.abstract | Congestion canneverbeavoidedinnetworksofnowadays,whatevertheproposed
design andtheusedtechnologies,forthesimplereasonthatwecanneverensure
that thebandwidthofeachuplinkisgreaterthanthesumofbandwidthsofits
downlinks.Whereallflowsandapplicationswillcontendforavailablebandwidth,
especially onmedium-sizedandlargenetworksofbothenterprisesandservice
providers.
However,whatmakesthetargetofdeployinganadequateQoSmorecomplex
to achieve,innext-generationnetworksisthedynamicbehaviorofsomeapplica-
tions, thehighestimportanceofensuringtherequiredbandwidthanddelay,the
networkdesigncomplexity,andthenon-complianceofconfigurationregarding
norms andbestpracticesofnetworkingfield.
In thisthesis,wewilldiscussthemostimportantrelatedworksintheautoma-
tion ofQualityofService.Also,wewillcomparethemandextracttheadvantages
and limitationsofeachapproach.***
