Abstract

Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) is a type of packet processing that inspects the entire packet content data. It was inspired by the poor reliability of detection based on the port due to the increasing number of applications that fake their identity using common static ports. This thesis will show the DPI process and how it works in many domains, as well as highlight the various commercial and open source solutions that exist to execute deep packet inspection against our needs.

Il a _et_e inspir_e par la faible _abilit_e de la d_etection bas_ee sur le port en raison du nombre croissant d'applications qui falsi_ent leur identit_e en utilisant des ports statiques communs. Cet m_emoire montrera le processus DPI et son fonctionnement dans de nombreux domaines, ainsi que les di__erentes solutions commerciales et open source qui existent pour ex_ecuter une inspection approfondie des paquets en fonction de nos besoins.
