Title: Optimizing & Scaling Ethereum Blockchain Smart Contracts
Authors: BACHA, ILyes
HAMRIT, TAriq
Issue Date: 2022
Abstract: One of the major issues that public blockchains face today is scalability, which is the primary focus of blockchain research. However, the tricky part is that not only do they need to scale but they also need to do so without compromising the security or the decentralization. This thesis will go through a background of how Ethereum works and proceed to go through patterns that can be applied in code in order to optimize the gas consumption and move afterward to talk about architectural solutions and solutions that can be applied outside of the code in order to scale and optimize.
